The Essence of Quality

The character of a carpet is defined by the fibers from which it is born. We select only the finest, most durable, and ethically sourced materials.

A Foundation of Natural Integrity

Our commitment to quality begins at the source. We partner with shepherds, farmers, and artisans who share our values of sustainability and excellence. Each fiber is chosen for its unique properties, contributing to the final carpet's look, feel, and longevity.

  • Live Wool: Sourced from high-altitude sheep in regions like New Zealand and the Himalayas, this wool is exceptionally resilient, rich in lanolin (a natural stain repellent), and offers unparalleled color depth and softness. It is shorn from live, healthy sheep, making it a renewable and humane choice.
  • Pure Silk: Used to create intricate details and luminous highlights, our silk comes from cultivated sources that ensure a fine, strong, and consistent thread. It reflects light beautifully, giving carpets a dynamic sheen that changes throughout the day.
  • Organic Jute & Hemp: These plant-based fibers are the backbone of our flatweave and contemporary collections. Known for their incredible strength and rich, earthy texture, they are fast-growing, require little water, and are fully biodegradable, making them an excellent eco-conscious option.
  • Hand-spun Cotton: Often used as the strong warp and weft foundation of our hand-knotted carpets, our cotton is sourced from organic farms. It provides a stable and durable base that ensures the carpet lies flat and retains its shape for decades.

An Aesthetic for Every Story

A carpet is a design statement. Our collection spans a wide spectrum of styles, from the historically rich to the boldly contemporary.

A room with a traditional Persian rug.

The Traditional & The Timeless

Rooted in centuries of history, our traditional carpets feature intricate motifs and symbolic patterns passed down through generations. Styles like Persian, Anatolian, and Oriental are characterized by their detailed borders, central medallions, and rich color palettes derived from natural dyes. These pieces are not just floor coverings; they are heirlooms that bring a sense of history, gravitas, and warmth to formal living rooms, dining areas, and studies. They speak a language of enduring elegance that never fades from fashion.

A modern living room with a geometric rug.

The Modern & The Minimalist

For those who prefer clean lines and understated sophistication, our modern collection is a perfect fit. These carpets often feature geometric patterns, abstract designs, or solid fields of color with an emphasis on texture. Drawing inspiration from Scandinavian, Mid-Century Modern, and minimalist aesthetics, these pieces use negative space as a design element. They are perfect for creating a calm, uncluttered, and contemporary atmosphere, serving as a subtle yet powerful anchor for modern furniture and art.

A cozy bohemian-style room.

The Bohemian & The Eclectic

Embrace a free-spirited and well-traveled look with our bohemian and eclectic carpets. Inspired by Moroccan, Kilim, and tribal designs, these pieces are celebrated for their vibrant colors, bold patterns, and plush, shaggy textures. Often featuring asymmetrical designs and playful tassels, they bring an undeniable sense of comfort, personality, and warmth to a space. They are perfect for bedrooms, family rooms, and any area where a relaxed and inviting atmosphere is desired.

Frequently Asked Questions

A great rule of thumb is to ensure the carpet is large enough for the main furniture to rest comfortably on it. In a living room, at least the front legs of your sofa and chairs should be on the rug. In a dining room, the rug should extend at least 24 inches beyond the table on all sides so chairs can be pulled out without going off the edge. We provide a detailed sizing guide on each product page.

We professionally photograph each carpet in natural light to represent its colors as accurately as possible. However, colors can vary slightly depending on your screen's calibration. For hand-dyed carpets, you'll also notice subtle variations in color known as 'abrash', which is a hallmark of authenticity and not a defect. If color matching is critical, we recommend using our AR tool or contacting us for a consultation.

We want you to love your carpet. We offer a 14-day, no-questions-asked return policy from the date of delivery. The item must be in its original, unused condition. We will coordinate the pickup with our white-glove service. A nominal restocking fee applies to cover the specialized return shipping. Please see our full Shipping & Returns page for details.

Each carpet ships with a specific care guide. Generally, regular vacuuming (without a beater bar), immediate blotting of spills with a clean cloth, and professional cleaning every 3-5 years is recommended. For wool rugs, some initial shedding is normal and will subside with time and regular vacuuming.

Hand-knotting is the most laborious and durable carpet-making technique. An artisan ties individual knots of fiber onto a vertical loom's foundation. This process can take months or even years. The result is a pile that is part of the carpet's core structure, making it incredibly resilient and long-lasting—often for generations. Machine-made rugs typically have a pile that is glued or tufted onto a backing, which can degrade much faster.

Yes, we ship to most countries worldwide. International shipping costs and delivery times vary by location. All applicable duties and taxes are calculated at checkout for a transparent and seamless process. Our white-glove delivery service may be limited in some international regions, in which case we partner with trusted local logistics experts.

Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of our handcrafted carpets, we are unable to provide physical samples of the carpets themselves. However, we do offer sample swatches for our most common materials (e.g., New Zealand wool, jute) to help you understand the texture and base color. Please contact our support team to inquire about material swatch availability.

All our carpets come with a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects. This covers issues like significant, unusual shedding or structural problems. It does not cover normal wear and tear, damage from spills, improper cleaning, or fading from direct sunlight. Given their handcrafted nature, our carpets are designed to last for decades with proper care, far beyond the warranty period.

Weaver's Spotlight: Fatima Zahra

Atlas Mountains, Morocco

"Each knot is a word, and the full carpet is a story of my ancestors. When you place this in your home, you are not just covering a floor, you are listening to our history. It is an honor to share it with you."

Fatima is a master weaver from a cooperative of Amazigh women in the High Atlas Mountains. She learned the art from her mother and grandmother, using techniques that have been preserved for centuries. Specializing in the Beni Ourain style, Fatima uses only the finest local wool, which is hand-spun and washed in mountain streams. Her designs are deeply symbolic, featuring traditional motifs that represent family, nature, and protection. By purchasing a carpet from Fatima's cooperative, you are directly supporting the economic independence of these remarkable women and helping to preserve a vital piece of cultural heritage.

The Art of the Foundation

A carpet is the soul of a room's aesthetic. It is the first layer of texture, the canvas for your furniture, and the single largest block of color that defines the mood.

Think of your room as a painting. The walls are the background, the furniture is the subject, but the carpet is the foundational wash of color and texture that sets the entire tone. A light, neutral-toned carpet can make a room feel airy, spacious, and serene. A deep, richly colored carpet can create a sense of intimacy, drama, and coziness. The texture plays an equally important role. The plush softness of a high-pile wool rug invites bare feet and relaxation, while the rustic, flat weave of a jute rug brings an organic, earthy element indoors. At Weaver's Loom, we encourage you to think beyond just covering the floor. Think about the feeling you want to create. Our collection is curated to provide you with a palette of emotions, from the tranquil calm of a minimalist design to the vibrant energy of a bohemian masterpiece.
